''for you''

Contributed by english-pea-pelter on Thursday, 10th February 2005 @ 10:41:29 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I am trying to rhyme
But I sound like a fool
My poetry should be made a crime
I need to stay calm, reasonable and cool
But I can’t help it
I know she’s all right
But I want to leave,
Run into the night
God please show me the light
Show me she’s all right
And if she isn’t,
Lord let her take flight
Take her and caress her
Make her feel strong
Make her an angel
That she’s adored all along
She has believed
She has been wonderful
She is the best mother, divine, and beautiful
Please, make her right
So I can sleep tonight
Let me dream awesome dreams
Let our love for her burst out of every crack, and every seam
Let me see her
For she is not well
I know that she’ll live
My love will not fail
I will not let her stay there
Sick, and pale
For she will be loved, and cared for as well
We all love you so much

…For Mom
