Array ( [sid] => 838 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Virginity [time] => 2002-07-20 22:24:41 [hometext] => A happy story of a man who falls in love with a statue that had been given a chance at life, this one takes place in what i imagine to be somewhat like an Italian countryside. This is also a case of the old "any emotion is better than no emotion" story. [bodytext] => It is a glorious day
When the porcelain statue
Awakens for the first time,
And the young photographer
Stands witness to the aftermath,
Cautious and armed with water
From the baptism of Christ.

A glorious day indeed
When the statue is animated
And her soul is flooded with joy
As she celebrates her new life
And hails God, The Almighty,
Right up until she discovers that
Her feet are still bound to the pedestal.

Then, as she realizes that
She is no better off than before,
She strikes a pose to proclaim her sorrow
To the rest of the world,
And since the photographer has
No real pain of his own,
He is made envious, and desires nothing more.

The porcelain goddess freezes herself
Once again, as the photographer arrives
At the base of her feet to kiss
And worship her tainted perfection,
And in his shaded heart, he wishes
That he could share in her bondage,
And thus be made a part of her forever.

Though all of his outward expression
Had been against that which he desired most,
And the young man truly knew naught
Of his motives and ultimate goals,
He knew now, more than ever,
That this statue’s presence in his meager life
Was all that he needed to be truly happy.
