The unheard call

it's dark...
I can HEAR them in the hall...
their shadows CREEPING up the wall...
I'm so CONSUMED by it all...
I've reached the EDGE...
I'm going to FALL...
but who will come...will heed my call?
my fears...
a million miles TALL...
the jump's so BIG and I'm so small...
my footing's LOST...
I have to CRAWL...
my FATE is set...
and yet I STALL...
to AID my plight...
in this hopeless BRAWL...
but who will come...will heed my call?

I can feel the fear within this poem. The certainty that you are going to die, the belief that no one will ever bother to help you, no matter how close you get to them... I feel for the poem... and I feel for you. This was a wonderful read, and I want to read more... |
