The sky today reminds me of —
a gothic book from yesteryear
where out upon the Scottish moores
a damsel weeps

Her heart, her dreams, lay shattered
as the grass beneath her feet

Too late she learned that love
can slip into the mist

Leaving behind a world where
sorrow blooms

“Come hide me mist” she cries
with heaving breast

Let me escape to where
love lives.
