I can’t press rewind, life doesn’t work that way

You lift me up only to drop me onto concrete
Then you push me down
Before I have time to get back on my feet
Let’s face it, we will never make ends meet
I can’t handle anymore of this
Pressure raining down on me

So get out of my head, you’re already out of my heart
There’s no room for you in this endless vastness
I wish you hadn’t said those words that hurt us both
I wish you had said “I’m sorry”
After you were finished screaming

The paper’s crumbled, we can’t go back again
You can’t turn back time, no matter what you said

You wish you could take back the pain, everything
The remorse you felt for one moment
And now the next you love me
I can’t press rewind, life doesn’t work that way
I just can’t forgive you
