That's a good one, it reminded me of when a girl i barely knew asked me if i was plastic, just because i didn't like some kid she was trying to hook me up with. .... .... solo is my motto ....

Sorry, but I was also one of the many who thought of the Barbie song as soon as I heard the title in guitar class. >> Sorry? Hehe.
However, it does fit perfectly while completely going against what that song was saying, so there's very little comparison between the two.
Again, I analyze, weeeee! (only because you said I couldn't do it. *beedah*)
We're taught a certain way when we grow up...it's not just putting on a fake smile, it's living a fake life because of the fear of rejection.
Plasticly Ever After...exactly how society is today. I believe I stated something similar:
'The truth behind society is
That we are all controlled.
We created the very market
To which we ourselves are sold.'
Yeah....eventually I'll get to post that one on here. Til then, I'll bug you, weeee! *ahem* Back to the subject....
Society wants us to live this certain way, within the boundaries and limitations of what is considered right or acceptable. Our parents make us what they want us to be, and we make the next generation what we want them to be. It's all fake, though. Everyone knows that these boundaries are broken every day by our thoughts, our dreams, our daydreams, what have you. Someone might look at us in whole and think 'Wow, we're great...' but then look at an individual person, the true person, not the plastic, and realize that we all are trying to be something we're not to fit in with society.
Only a few people realize this, sadly. It comes to the whole concept of Prep, Goth seperation (as an example), when really they are one in the same. Both think exactly the same: We're different from them and they're the ones that are wrong/weird/dumb/whatever. What the goths, only as example, don't realize is that in trying to be unconforming they are conforming. No one escapes this plastic life because we have yet to find a way. Society controls us, and most of us don't realize it or don't want to consider the fact. The point, though, is that people should try to be themselves despite society. "It's better to be hated for being yourself than to be liked for being something you're not."
I'll stop rambling. o_o;
