[hometext] =>
[bodytext] => The pale nape of your neck, A gentle right angle of soft freckles and silk skin, Soaked in the milk moonlight, Touching it lightly I have never felt so safe, That I bear witness to such form, Soothes me like nothing I’ve known. This navy night sub-cover utopia, To know it exists, Is to both know life and get it. The daily grind, the wear and tear, the hustle and bustle, I tolerate this barbarism tenuously, A stone cold soul, Sceptically solidified, Perfunctorily performing biological requirements, Forgetting why I bothered in the first place. The nape of your neck is the oxygen for my soul, Reminder of the eternal, Indictor of the infinite, I no longer breathe in out of habit, Because I stole a glance at heaven, It props up your head, Displays your jewels, Gets stiff when you’re stressed, Functional to you, For me it’s a reminder, That each breath is a miracle, And each day bliss [comments] => 1 [counter] => 198 [topic] => 2 [informant] => Blackevar [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )
