inside our minds,
the cigarettes we smoke hiding our realities.

We laughed at the sweet sensations of pins failing the soft perception of sunrise;
considerably forever or never where life touches still waters.
Jesus’ bosom spits; saliva covers corvettes, harvest moons, and screaming,
bowing to a blue eyed god on wheels, in glasses; in strawed, blond hair;
in kisses on the cement with moonlight brighter than before and a sun remembered tomorrow.

Sitting lonely in this dark passage
to place ourselves in memory;
old photos taken yesterday, stone walls held the balance.

Newborn hope evaporates on ocean floors, taking my hands in calm, surrendering surf,
the gulls stare briefly.

I was watching her again, falling for him again
(in solemn rooms in solemn paintings on the wall)
waiting for her warm, entrancing voice.

And I love her completely, considerably,
deep down knowing my place isn’t telling,
my place isn’t in her life or her heart,
knowing always that she can only be so real
and living lonesome in the dark.

the words were harder then, to say,
when the rain had fallen. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 216 [topic] => 66 [informant] => iodinelove [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => drugabuse )
