Wondering how I got here,
This place, this moment....

This mind,
Flooding with painful memories,
Of when I was young and immortal,
When I was not as broken,
When I was loved...
These hands,
Talented fleshy poets,
Bleeding out my emotions with clarity,
Through the fingertips that caressed your face...

Abandoned on Life's door step,
Vulnerable and alone,
I learned from Misery,
She taught me well...

Jagged words provoke anguish,
Tears burst forth unexpectedly,
And I drown in my salty sorrow...
Cruel reality, ruthless agony,
Hate coursing through me....
Never to understand the mysteries of life,
Crawling further into myself,
Where solitude is endless,
And I am numb...

Gently fading into nothingness,
Where I seem to belong...
A deep search within,
And all I seem to find is emptiness...

I am...... HOLLOW......

Trying to find an answer,
Yet, there is only another question...
Weary and spent from my endless odyssey,
Walking a desolate road,
Seemingly eternal,
Frustrated to find that I have been walking in circles all this time...
Horrified, discovering that the cycle never ends...

My tale is left incomplete,
My symphony is unfinished,
Lingering at a single trill note...
I am left with only a half-told tale,
A half-sung Melodie,
Everlasting solitude,
And deafening silence... [comments] => 11 [counter] => 235 [topic] => 13 [informant] => FleurdeSang [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 15 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )

we have all been there, some are still, and others never, memories of pain do drinch our soul and make it unable to breath causing us to die in our past, but you have a talent you can express your tourmented soul which helps, it does, notingness is what we put ourselves in to protect us from Misery but her brother Depression is there beating us with thoughts of death, sorrow that we cause, love we will never have, etc. etc. yes we all need the answer and all we get are questions, we are all tired of this road of our life but it will not stay a circle forever. eventhough your tale is un complet it is not over just on hold tell you are ready tomove on with your taterd lifeand when you do your song will be sung by many and you will hear clerly once again.

I am impressed at how this flowed it prety much sums it all up, the life of a person suffering from depression (I do hope that it is not you who is suffering, if so then dont, God will help and so will we.) you mentiond that you were ..."looking through someone else's eyes..." if you were then you have a gift for seeing the unseeable, so please use that to help others. and do write again I enjoyed this very much.

God bless.

I always appreciate how you are so willing to expose these emotions - I think your writes feel particularly honest.

Thanks for writing.

This could easily stand alone as a poem of its own right ... and it carries the weight of the words before it wonderfully.

You are ... amazing Steph.

(stands up and applauds)

Great poem. For some reason, and I don't know why, the very last stanza made me feel content, inspite of all of the pain that is within this piece. ----Side note----so this poem isn't about you?.....hmm.....are you sure it isn't just a little bit about you? Or maybe it is about someone else, but I think the feeling you express in this poem is universal, in that anyone who is alive experiences this, in however it manifests in their life. Or maybe that isn't it either----end of side note-----

Lost in Time's gaze,
Wondering how I got here,
This place, this moment....

I like how this poem started because I could see where you were, as the writer, as you started writing this. I like that you addressed the moment that you were in. I think that's what we should do as writers, because when we bring our attention to the present......it makes writing a meditative experience, and we always find so much there to express.

My tale is left incomplete,
My symphony is unfinished,
Lingering at a single trill note...
I am left with only a half-told tale,
A half-sung Melodie,
Everlasting solitude,
And deafening silence...

Beautiful. Great description here. "A half-sung Melodie"----That is especially wonderful. And the way you ended it, spoke a thousand unspeakable words. Great poetry, as always.

Be True,
zenmind

Frustrated to find that I have been walking in circles all this time.

I think that life must be one big circle.. don't you..somewhere there's a silver buckle on it..we have to find it ..to break out of the circle.. like a beautiful belt..maybe it has a combination lock ....
