Array ( [sid] => 8244 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Sick of... [time] => 2002-12-08 13:30:00 [hometext] => This one deals with religion as I was reading it over I realized one line could create some controversy. So let me try to clear the air before things get nasty. One line says, "Holding up their array of falsities" No I do not believe the Bible is false this means basically those preachers on TV who say God can give u peace if u buy this movie for $30. And those in leadership positions who act all Godly on Sunday and then lead the totally opposite lifestyle the rest of the week.* [bodytext] => I'm sick of being here
Sick of the Polaroid smiles
Sick of posing for the camera
Sick of the flashing Crest teeth
Sick of performing
To your every command
I feel like a circus animal
And it makes me sick
Sick of bouncing up and down

Sick of the penguins
Waddling around, clumsily
In their little suits
Holding up their array of falsities
Sick of seeing you
Sick of acting
Sick of your plastic, Polaroid smiles
Sick of being judged
For my baggy clothes
For my ashtray mouth
(From smoking of course)

Sick of your carefully composed words
Sick of your organization
Sick of being ignored
I hold back my tears,
My tears because of the reek,
It reeks of religion and fake
So flash your Polaroid smile,
Your Crest teeth,
Your canned laughter
I won't be their to see it
Because I'm sick of it all

Or maybe I'm just sick of me
Sick of my fakeness
So don't guilt trip me, please
I get enough s*** from me

I have an idea of where you are coming from. I sometimes feel almost the same way. Thank you for expressing it in this poem...

I see your point, and am glad that your anger is not with religion (or god) itself, but rather the "blindness" of people in thier portait of practice.
