Surrender begins my spirit you hone
The tears fall like rain drops upon the earth
As a new spirit is given birth
A touch, a feeling upon my heart
A deepening desire to never part
A surge of power left behind
The mark of Christ upon my mind

Walking down the streets of time
Dead men walking along the line
Shadows of evil are all around
In Your spirit protection is found
Reaching out, and taking hold
Sharing the love of Christ so bold
A surge of peace comes over me
The mark of Christ upon my knees

Serving the poor and the oppressed
Offering nothing but the best
Sharing in all their suffering
The love of Christ is what I bring
The breaking of bonds, the loosening of chains
Freedom from all of Satan’s gains
Your Spirit is blowing across the land
The mark of Christ upon my hand

Softly singing the songs of praise
The sinner’s hands are upraised
Reaching out to those around
Love and grace that may abound
Knowing the price for which you paid
Upon the cross my Savior laid
Experiencing such a perfect grace
The mark of Christ upon my face

Falling down to humbly adore
The child that the virgin bore
Viewing the thorns upon your brow
Wondering why and even how
Hearing you call out my name
The risen Lord took all my shame
Knowing how it feels to be whole
The mark of Christ upon my soul
