Array ( [sid] => 82386 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Freedom on the Road [time] => 2005-01-31 22:23:15 [hometext] => Another write about my adventures with my husband, kids, and our road family. My husband paints steel electric towers and poles, it is a fascinating life. I wrote this when he was working in Georgia in December, one of my favorite states. [bodytext] => Who would of thought
that I would be here
right now.
Places only dreamt of
or read about.
There is something
fascinating.....
captivating.....
About being somewhere,
I've never treaded before.
Amazing the adventures
you'll find if you
just step out that door.

I sit here amongst
my road family.
Thinking how glad I
am to be here.
Not to be tethered
to anyone one place.
Never to be stuck in the
same stifling place.

It hasn't been that long ago
since I worked for the Man,
clocking in.....
work my shift....
clocking out,
do it all over again
Yes, I am a nurse
with a wonderful gift....
but freedom is sweeter by far.
I do not miss the weekends worked,
all the holidays too.
I do not miss long hours
away from you.

I am so much happier now.
Actually feeling like I live life.
I'm sitting here in Georgia,
Last week in Alabam'
a week before home in Missouri.

Wow! We get around!

I really like this poem, I could really relate to your excitment, and sense of freedom. I had a nurse client years ago, who went on the road as a traveling RN. She and her husband together. Your feelings really come through in this poem, my friend.

Excellant write, and thank you for reading my poems.

Willofree, Terry
