Tucked away from the pain I feel
I keep you hidden inside for my peace of mind
It makes the day go by a little easier.
We shared something no one else could ever have
We walked away still complete within ourselves
You will always be with me even though we are apart
Our lives are separate again but you make me whole inside.
I think of you and smile from the inside out
You still think of me or so I'm told
Do the memories of our secrets shared still have their hold on you
I wonder.
I saw you not long ago and my heart still reaches out
All is not forgotten nor will it ever be
I hope your life is where you want it
I know that mine is not
But all I have is all I am
With you in my heart - I am better
So thank you for giving part of yourself to me
And not asking for it back.
When I close my eyes- I see your heart
And know that I'm still in it.
We will always be there for each other
Even if the world says we can't.
