Grounded on Earth by their own feelings
Fallen from Heaven unable to fly
Tortured by lust and then left to die

The descent, their first taste of gravity
Innocence stolen by reality
A poisonous fruit, worms crawling within
Fell from the tree of their sacred kin

Seduced by the apples tender red skin
Newton's curse, the fatal sin
Hair black as ebony, skin white as snow
Hot blooded mammals, a dark side to show

Desire now replaces the divine
Corruption destroying the grand design
Immortality becomes the grave
Those who fall cannot be saved

A force of nature which they cannot control
Held down on Earth by a leaden soul
Trapped in an orbit of sexual attraction
For their momentary satisfaction

Their blood soaked feathers fall to the ground
Fluttering, landing without a sound
Unhealing wounds upon their flesh
Cutting deep forever fresh

Gripping tale, and very well written. Sad.
Take care,
