Array ( [sid] => 82268 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Legacy [time] => 2005-01-31 10:34:38 [hometext] => Look back on your life for a moment. What were you in your early years, and where are you now? Have your values changed? Have you become harder to the world? Innocence was lost so long ago, it's but a memory to all of us. Critiques invited [bodytext] => Where have I gone?
I never really left.
You chose not to hear me
When you committed theft.
I’ve always been around,
To be found here and there,
But you chose not to hear me,
And block out my loving care.

Its funny how things change,
But I’ve always stayed the same.
Here long enough its nothing strange
That you want to change your name.
Look back on your life and answer
What you think I would make of you,
As my innocence abound was slowly lost
And all hateful feelings grew.

Bring me back I’ve nowhere to go!
My place is by your side.
A purpose unseen is a purpose still,
And from that you cannot hide.
What can I do to heal
Pain to us, the pair?
For I’m still love, and long
For no more pain to bear.

What would I say if you would ask
What I thought of what we are?
You’ve grown so much but yet so little,
Achievement has never been so far.
Bring me back I long to help
I can only scream so loud.
I simply ask before you act,
Would the Child in you be proud?

Brilliant is too trivial a word... The last line just blew me away. This has to be one of the best poems that i've read lately. Nicely done.

Take care

I love this, very good concept indeed. The ending made the whole thing more brilliant then ever, well done.
Amazing piece, keep it up. I want to be seeing more of your writing around.
