Too Late

Contributed by bonita2689 on Sunday, 30th January 2005 @ 02:17:46 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

maybe its time we both grew up
took a look at our lives
maybe then we'd realize
that love isn't just this game
it can take and it can break
for so long we've been pretending
that there was nothing more to hide
we'd say I love you
and all the smiles would be there
to cover up the lies
maybe we need to talk a while
and get this straightened out
there are things that need to be said
that we never talk about
maybe I'll end up crying
and it'll hurt you too
but as long as we both are here
I need to find the truth
I need to know if this is going to work
or are we just trying too hard
times are changing in a blur
maybe this has gone too far
So maybe I need to step up
and apologize for waiting
but baby the truth is I gotta say goodbye
'Cuz our love is surely fading
and though we promised forever
time has its own fate
and though Im hurting deep inside
I know for us, its too late

fabulous work. you said the words that many of us in life have held in for too long. if more of us could step up like u did there would definitely be a smaller number of broken hearts. once again , this is beautifully expressed.
