Array ( [sid] => 81676 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Angel [time] => 2005-01-27 03:18:50 [hometext] => This poem was written right after the Columbine High School shooting. At the time my daughter was 15, and heading down a dark path, so that day really hit home and my heart went to all the families of the victims. I wrote this as a tribute. [bodytext] => Have all the good days passed?
Seems there's less reasons for smiling.
Listen to the rain, as the tears dampen my face-
As memories of you keep beckoning my mind
You left so early, I never got the chance to kiss you goodbye.
From the deepest part of my soul, I keep you near-
And will until the day I die...

How does the sun set?
How does the moon shine?
Why is there always a message from God, sent in the moment of tragedy?
I'd never forseen , God, taking you away from me...

There's no way to bring you back,
No second time, or chance.
It's all been planned for us to part,
Heaven's called upon your heart...

I used to call you my little angel!,
Now you truely are!
Sometimes I think I see you waving,
Just beyond the brightest star...

Every night I softly tell you
How, all the world you mean to me.
A perfect blessing, is what you were,
So harmless and so pure...

Since you've been gone, there's only been half a moon-
In only half a sky.
There's been just half a feeling,
In the last half of my mind.
All has changed, it seems to hard, 'to think of more than tis sorrow,
Because I lost the most important half of my heart...

I pray that you're in a world,
Where no darkness takes it's toll.
Where no children become victims,
Of an evil minded soul.

I always felt that you were wise beyond your years,
As if you already learned lifes teachings,
And conquered all of your fears.
Maybe that's why the angels called upon you,
To guide young souls like mine.

Knowing all the answers is not the one thing that I seek,
I've but only one request-,
Which is - asking you to stay with me.
And help restore my spirit,
So that I may finally set this pain free..,

I used to call you my little angel,
Now you truely are!
Sometimes I think I see you waving,
Just beyond the brightest star...

The words thankyou aren't enough,
To explain a time so perfect.
The days spent, just you and me-
I'm casting out my last words, before accepting your final rest in peace...

I owe you my life,
I trade places without a doubt..
My little angel you made life all that it was.
His hand is now your comfort, I'll find the same over time,
Now- soar my little angel,
You've got real wings to fly!!!

Awww. this is so sad..
I think this part says it best:

"Since you've been gone, there's only been half a moon-
In only half a sky.
There's been just half a feeling,
In the last half of my mind."

That part hit hard...

A stunning tribute, it brought tears to my eyes.

*hugs* Phil xxx
