Array ( [sid] => 81617 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => High School [time] => 2005-01-26 18:04:17 [hometext] => No matter who you are, i hope you've had at least one fond memory of the things you did in high school. It's a place where you become your own person, and you grow to become your future self. I'm thankful for each day I've spent there. Critiques invited. [bodytext] => For all I’ve seen,
For all I’ve done,
For all the times I’ve had my fun.
For the long hours spent
During the best of the day,
From the start of September,
Past the end of May,
What is there truly left to say?

For all our fun and camaraderie,
For all we’ve done,
What we’ve grown to be.
For the times spent smiling,
Full of laugh and cheer,
For the times spent worrying,
Wrapped in our fear,
For those tests we worked so hard to complete,
For the special someone we just had to meet,
From a young child,
To growing child,
To the adult in you,
What is there truly left to do?

We’ve come so far,
This thought so clichéd,
What comes next will leave some dismayed.
Such a large part of our early lives,
Like our infancy,
Will be left here to die.
We can put it away,
But we can never forget
The things we did,
And the people we’ve met,
But without this one dagger to pierce us all,
Our lives have no peaks,
Just flat, nothing tall.
What would we be without a single fall?

For all I’ve seen,
For all I’ve done,
I will never forget the love of one
That dawned on me during a time of death.
That’s high school,
Where you never catch your breath.

Awesome poem!!! I am about to enter high school, and frankly I'm terrified, lol. But thank you for drawing such a fun-filled picture of high school... I can only hope mine is half as good! You really have talent!

you used to like this repeating type of set up eh? well you know what i think of that. i dont really like highschool, just seems like a waste of my time, and there really is nothing really worth it to go anymore. maybe next year will be better. but excellent discription, maybe i will have a fond memory.... for all the times that you are a no one...you become someone.

Beautifully amazing write! Well expressed and full of emotion and feeling! I love this piece! This is amazing Marc. Wonderful write!
Again the only criticism I could think of for this piece would be structure, just play around and you never know what you could find.

Very fun and cheerful poem, kind of reminds me of the Vitamin C graduation song.
Nice write.
