My Dear Friend

***
Today is a brand new day
Ya i've changed
But i've changed for the better
I'm no longer walking down the same old street
No longer will i trip over this frigid concrete
I'm headed towards a new destination
Staring at a completely different reflection
Ya i may have caused you pain
But all that you've done to me....
Let's just say it's more than i can retain
My dear friend.....
I can't live in the past any longer
I can't live my life with a heart full of hatred and anger
I'm sorry to say this is so
But a long time ago
I thought i knew you
I thought you were my chance to breakthrough
Could it have been a fairytale come true?
Well i guess time changes everything
I'm growing up
I'm moving on
...I'm finally breathing
Now that i've found my way around these problems of mine
I think i'll be just fine
We've both changed
Our lives have been completely rearranged
If ever there is anything you need from me
Don't ever hesititate to ask me
But if i'm just going to be an alternative
Then that doesn't really give me the right to LIVE
I don't wanna wake up in the morning
Knowing i wasted my life doing nothing
I don't want to stare at a picture while waiting for that god damn doorbell
I want a real story to tell
My dear friend.....
I don't want to die alone
And whether or not you'll always be with me is unknown!
