Having a craving for something sweet...
Normally I keep sweets on hand.
Mostly for company,
The very minute I want something sweet,
There's none in my kitchen for me.

A piece of cake, chocolate candy, not even an apple pie,
I'd even settle for some cookies...
To help me get by.
Standing in my kitchen all alone,
Now I know how Old Mother Hubbard felt
When she went to get her poor dog a bone.

Back to my dilemma... I couldn't seem to find,
Any of what I craved, all a waste of time.
So back to bed I went, my craving unfullfilled...
Then a thought occurred to me,
Yes!... a glass of wine...
A glass of wine and you my dear will do just fine.

What could be sweeter?

I awakened late one night in the mood to feast,
Having a craving for something sweet...
Normally I keep sweets on hand.
Mostly for company,
The very minute I want something sweet,
There's none in my kitchen for me.

A piece of cake, chocolate candy, not even an apple pie,
I'd even settle for some cookies...
To help me get by.
Standing in my kitchen all alone,

As I read through the verses reminded me slighly of my poem "sweet-touth junkie", you might enjoy the read.
