Array ( [sid] => 80950 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Mom [time] => 2005-01-22 02:26:35 [hometext] => I believe mothers are taken for granted and it is wrong to be looked down upon for respecting your mother [bodytext] => I’M GROUNDED! I did nothing wrong
Aight, at least tell me for how long
SIX WEEKS! Have you lost your mind
That does it, this is the last time
I know, I’ll pack my bags and go
I won’t put up with this stuff no mo
Aight, cool, now I’m on my own
I’m traveling to find a new home
No more bedtime, no more brushing my teeth
Just me, my bags, and my own two feet
Let’s see, this cardboard box seems like a good place to stay
I can live how I want to and do this my own way
Now I’m getting hungry I’ll find something for a snack
Let’s see what I put in my backpack
Aha! A candy bar, boy, my favorite
I’ll eat it all, no need to save it
I can find more good stuff to eat
Boy I love living on the street
Okay, now I’m cold, but I have no jacket
Dang, I didn’t think to pack it
The roof of my house is leaking on me
Plus, I’m too afraid to go pee
It’s dark outside and I didn’t bring a light
Am I really going to stay out here all night
What was that noise is something out there
It’s okay, I’m not scared
Oh shoot, I just peed in my jeans
Why couldn’t I see just what my mom means
To me and to my whole life
I’ve got to go back and make it right
I run back to the house and my mom is bawling
Wait a minute who’s that she’s calling
“Mommy Mommy hang up I’m back
I can’t believe I did something like that”
She looks at me with eyes of steel
I suddenly realize how it made her feel
When I left, I was really scared
But now I’m back and I can tell she cared
Her eyes grow soft life a teddy bear
We just stand there and look at each other in a loving stare
She gives me a big hug and holds me tight
“I didn’t know what happened you gave me a fright”
I’m so glad you’re home I almost lost my mind
But guess what, now you can double your time
Oh yeah, I was mad
But that night made me realize what I really had
