[bodytext] => She was the goddess of night and they had all come to bless her with offerings of life. Within the grove of oak trees, there upon the alter she sat haloed by the silvery light of a brilliant full Moon. The chalice she grasped with both hands was cool to the touch and each member of her church came willingly forth with dagger in hand. Murmured words and a kiss upon their forehead, they each cut deep into their palms and bled red into the chalice held against her bosom. This dark goddess smiled sweetly into the night, her horns trimmed in gold ribbon to match her dark locks, a waterfall down her bare back as her cloak dips past her shoulders. The chalice fills with the blood of her faithful … And as she drinks, she is imbibed with life anew. In the distance a howl rises up to join the chorus of her laughter as she slips from the alter, her cloak leaving her to be bathed in the silvery moonglow. How faithful they are … … bowing there at her feet. And she continues to drink the blood of the faith. 7 July 2004 [comments] => 2 [counter] => 153 [topic] => 13 [informant] => taintedsoul [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )
