Traversing, searching, debilitating.
For this long static journey,
The doors are in my mind.

Initial friendships and locations,
Are frozen and floating.
I am a negative bohemian,
I need to cross the border.

Masks of fertile lives,
Parabels of surreal self destruction.
Mind expanding & shallow betterment.
This is utopia.

In waiting, attachment is a release.
None of them true,
Just hollow, extended fulfilment.

Woman beaters and man eaters,
Emotional contradictions, primal turn ons.
We all dance at that fair,
And it's your first cigarette.

Last words,
Last words,

Wow. Yeh!

You've handed me something with this piece... given my mind something to work on with the lines "I need to cross the border" and "We all dance at that fair/And it's your first cigarette" (and more). This is rather exactly the type of write that drew me to poetry in the first place...

As you know, I have read all that you've posted here - I must confess this is my favorite of them. I am heading for the Best Poem of The Day forum to point this out to others... because it simply is the best I've read today AND because I grow more excited of your entrance into our hallowed halls with each visit to your page.

Impressed - utterly, sincerly impressed,
SNM
