Not So Bad After All

Topic: FamilyPoems

My heart is pounding
My head aching
My lips are quivering
As I realized how I have hurt everyone I love

I have made everyones life a little harder than it has to be
Now that I have realized this I want to set things straight

I thought I had the worst life ever
When I really have it easy

When her sister is on drugs
And she has a medical condition that could kill her
If she doesnt take some medicine
And not to mention how I have hurt her
And all the other things that are unspoken

When my own family is screwed up
The Youngest of the Jones has to deal with her mom not realizing how messed up her oldest child really is
And she feels sorry for her older brother who is the middle child.
Because she knows that he is never going to get out.
She knows he going to blow because he keeps everything in side himself

My aunts blinded my her oldest son because she feel responsible for the past

She doesnt want to admit that her 19 year old son is a drug addict.
She doesnt want to hear that her 17 year old son has a disability
She doesnt want to hear that her only daughter can’t stand living in the same house with her family.

And It seems I have it the greatest
I dont have to live with any of that.
Except my dad couldnt accept me being a lesbian.
So I have to hide it until I think he can handle this a little more.

But it seems I have a great life,
I have a father who loves me,
I have a step-mother who has taken me in as her own
And a brother who I love like a son.

So I am saying that Im sorry for hurting everyone I love

I have realized that my life isnt so bad after all

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
