Sitting at a table in
The Dare to Dream Café
He leaned in close
And to her did say…

“Meet me at the corner
of Whatmighthavebeen Lane
Let’s leave everything behind
And escape the mundane
For down the lane, not so very far
Is an empty lot where only dreams are
We will hire Mr. Letsjustpretend
Who will toil from dawn to day’s end
With a crew of hopeless romantic types
He’ll build a mansion, perfectly right
And soon enough, we'll settle down
In our little corner of Ifonly town
We’ll build a life
Have a couple children too
RosieGlasses, our girl and
Our boy, TrueBlue
And life will be perfect
As we stand hand and hand
Surveying the white picket fence
Surrounding our land
How we’ll laugh together
as the ears on our pup
Upon hearing his name,
suddenly perk up
We’ll call ‘Whoneedsrealityanway’
As the kids and the pup, do play
Maybe we'll sound a little insane
But that is, after all, our pup’s name!
Then we’ll all head inside
And partake of a feast
The children perfectly behaved
The pup at our feet
And knowing everything
Was just absolutely right
We will settle ourselves
Into our beds at night
We’ll close our eyes
Without needing to dream
Because life was exactly
Perfection, it seems.”

… she listened intently
And smiled a half smile
“You go on ahead” said she,
“I’ll be along in a while.” [comments] => 20 [counter] => 303 [topic] => 68 [informant] => Silent-No-More [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 36 [ratings] => 8 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => fictional )

All these new people ....WHEW!....great to see an old name. I loved it as always. Great job, and compared to some of what has been on this site lately this is a field of diamonds. Still even without that being said your stuff is brilliant and entertaining. Great job again.

Someone once told me that Marblehead MA is this place ...or was that Lake Wobegone?
Either way, they are wonderful to dream of,
but better to live in reality.
Fun write though.
