Array ( [sid] => 79470 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Born naked [time] => 2005-01-11 17:47:42 [hometext] => This poem is dear to me because it lays it all out on the table. I've tried everything humanly possible to feel worth something. Even though i havnt stopped some bad habits, life is deff. worth living if i enjoy what im doing-and yes, this poem is true. [bodytext] => I've done E
I've smoked pot
Got caught drinking
But never stopped
I've had crypto
I've lit up regs
Once felt insecure
So got insured with razorblades
(drugs! drinking! Suicide-suicide!)
I've taken pills
I've starved myself
Throat started to get sore
So got a tattoo of the word "help!"
I've been anorexic
I loved the bulemia
I vomited my self esteem
Then renourished with hesteria
(drugs! bulemia! insanity-insanity!)
I've sold my body
I've been the envy
Made the guys go broke
Then the girls gossiped about me
I've had heart malfunctions
I've stressed in pain
I cried when I was tested
And diagnoised insane
(Prostituation! Jealously! Insanity-Insanity!)
I've been to anger managment
I've attended AAA
They took away my outlets
But i'd soon find another way
I've burned myself
I've cut into every vein
Dragged my body to the tracks
Laid there waiting for the train
(Anger! Self injury! Suicide-SUICIDE!)
I've shot coke
I've burned crosses
Im pretty hard headed
Dont harbor any loses
I've been through this
I've surely done that
All i could hear was them complaining
"Your too ugly, drunk and fat!"
(Drugs! Religion! Embarassment!)
I've been dancing myself crazy
I've tried everything to scream
Until one day i saw im the only one
Who can help poor, little ol' me

Writers note: Its funny to see how the people who hate you because of the things you do, are the people who most envy you.

hmmm....well let me just say....if this is true, that i've never met anyone that has done that much stuff to themselves. i personally think i wouldn't be brave enough to do all that you have done. I admire your bravery to share this with the whole world...i don't think i could do that either. you are a much stronger person than i am. but i liked the structure of the poem. it really gets the point across too. good poem and i'm glad you are still with us

my heart hurt for you, having gone through so much. I to have tryed many of the thing you spoke of finding that I did git some comfort, but causeing more pain in its wake, I got over some of my "habits' and I know you can too, just be strong and look to my friends for help we are always here.

this poem was unbalivably amazing I will come back and read this one many times the flow was steedy, I do agree with your writers note for in many cases that is true. be strong dont let go you will make it. pleases poet more soon.

Great description of the tough road of self discovery and recovery. Very brave to lay it all out there.
