the miles between us picks at our hearts
and we feel the cruel sting of reality
i close my eys and try to see your face
but its distant, and slowly fading away

"i hope this lasts" continues to ring in my head
as i continue to drift
"it has to, it has to" i repeat to myself
the good times and memories dance in my head

and as the breeze runs its fingers
through my dark, and ratty hair
your picture comes cleary in sight
i feel your heart, your prescence, in mine
