I’m assured that our love will always last
Though convinced that we’ll see life through
I wondered what my life would be without you

I would’ve spent countless hours and days
Trying to visualize your lovely face
I would’ve spent my whole life in a daze
Mesmerizing, forever floating in space

My nights would’ve been dark and cold
Never knowing what it’s like to hold
The one person closest to my heart
The one person I’ve loved from the start

If not for you I’d be an empty space
That no amount of matter could replace
The love for which there’s no known measure
The love for which there’s no greater pleasure

Emptiness alone could contain my hours
Like a vast garden devoid of flowers
Despair would deprive me of any sense
Pain and regret produced by your absence

I would have married my heart to hatred
This emptiness could never be sated
Not until I have you in my life
Not until the day you are my wife

To live without the half that makes me whole
Is to live life never having a soul
To live no more than a puppet could move
Is to forsake life, letting death approve

And as I wake up with you by my side
Life and love filled the emptiness inside
My nightmare was over, so was my fear
Life is life once more now that you’re here

Your image was enough to make me smile
Your love is enough to make life worthwhile
You are my life, my light, and my friend
With you in my life, love has no end
