she's been there forever
just sitting in vain
she figured he'd come back
but nobody came,

life dances and flashes
she watches the plains
trees swaying and weaving
birds sing a refrain,

she sits out her vigil
her heart feels a strain
no one speaks to her ever
pain leaves her urbane,

cascading snowflakes alight
on her hair, her domain
the seasons all whisper
she breathes out his name,

her mind seems to wander
as down come the rains
it too, leaves her lonely
insanity obtained,

she's been there forever
just sitting in vain
she figured he'd come back
but nobody came.

It is sad the entanglements of the heart that destroy the soul and snuff out the roots of life.

Brings to mind a silverchair song... probably not what you wanted to hear lol I think it's something to do with the repeated stanza at the end, ending the poem with "but nobody came." Very lonely. But a beautiful poem...
