A cut that only needs
Healing. Side by side,
But so far apart, longing
To talk, to share it's overwhelming
Feelings. The heart is scared
To touch, frightened of the
Simplistic beauty that can
Pierce so deeply,
Tattooing the darkened soul
With a red charm.
Intoxicating, lustful,
It weaves a trail of light
Through the shadowed tunnels,
Finally reaching that which
Needs to be held most-
Me.

The heart is scared
To confess, afraid of revealing
A cut that only needs
Healing. Side by side,
But so far apart, longing
To talk, to share it's overwhelming
Feelings. The heart is scared

I like the way this winds down to the final "Me." 'Tattooing the darkened soul With a red charm." is my favorite line here. Cheers!
