How does one start their whole live over?
After devastation consumes all they’ve ever know
Taken from them is their own existence
Their way of life, their hopes and future

Lives torn apart, families destroyed
Homes and property completely wiped out
Daily survival comes a task within it self
No amount of relief help will heal the scars

The destruction is beyond comprehension
The pain and grief is beyond words
This is the most devastating event of our lifetime
An events that has sadden the world

I pray that God will protect the survivors
Strengthen their tired and weary bodies
Heal their broken hearts
And look after the fallen

You know what I like best about your poetry Jeff? It's the honest emotions you lend to the readers..and the subjects you write about.

You have no idea how much respect I have for you and your terribly ignored talent.

I wish we had a hundred like you here...

Larry

Nice , sentimental write, for the ones who have been devastated. Prayers from all to the ones who lost, and will be still losing. Good write.

I'm gonna agree with Larry here, if all your poems are this good then people (including myself) have been missing out.

This is great, very heartfelt and so true.
There are members of this site that live out there that I am worried about.

Great write and great dedication.
*hugs* Phil xxx

Amen. I have not seen any pictures of the disaster. I don't watch television, but I'm guessing if I saw it, I would respond much as you have. I wrote something like this after seeing the Titanic exhibit. It's so hard to fathom this kind of disaster, and we can't help but pour those emotions into words.
