I can't let go

Contributed by pleasure_is_pain103 on Sunday, 2nd January 2005 @ 12:04:33 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

"you don't know what you have until you lose it"
I used to believe that, I must admit
But I knew what I had, when I had you
I just never thought I would lose you too

"It's better to have loved and lost,
Than to have never loved at all"
Whoever said this was never left alone,
Feeling so small.
Because if you don't know the pain
Of being left behind
That pain cannot linger and haunt your mind

"holding on is what makes on strong"
Letting go is harder,
When you're in the place you belong
Because holding on
To someone who's not there
Is a pain that nobody
Should ever have to bare...

Well written-
Well thought out-
A suggestion (which I seldom make)
take this and look into your heart-
What is it that each of these quotes try to make you forget and what is it you feel deep down that will not let you forget-
One should never forget love of any kind-
Thoughts change-yet feelings always remain no matter what but one must try to surpass the emptiness of the loss...
Joe

I have to agree with the other comment by Joe. Yeah, it doesn't make you feel much better to hear those things, but the thought of always having been alone, and not even experiencing the love and the pain, would be a much more empty life to have lived. Hurting in your heart is the worst pain imaginable... but it still beats never having those great feelings beforehand, that caused the heartache to begin with. Just my two cents, food for thought.....J. Samuelson
