Ride the swift currents where you find them, Make landfall on the tide And when the still waters becalm you, Let your compass be your guide. Treat obstacles as course corrections, Let nothing deflect your quest When the sea lies in all directions, Embrace it as a test. Draw sustenance from your supplies, Heed the advice of older tars And when dark night envelops the skies, Take directions from the stars. Batten down in storms and gales, Air your rigging in the sun When the winds are up, unfurl the sails, And let the strong gusts drive you on.
