He said he’s put a blindfold over my eyes
So I wouldn’t see him walking away
But it didn’t help I guess
As I heard the sound of his boots disappear
And tears merged in my eyes
And dampened my protectiveness
I took the blindfold off to nothing
He had left me alone again
And I swear in the distance I heard them laughing

I am continually impressed by the depth mixed with brevity. BRAVO!
