life has presented a brand new let-down
"only a few stitches" the doctor let it be known
a child's blood quietly drips to the ground

it couldn't be sadness that yields to the knife
for misery's face never has been shared
only comfort and fulfilment gilded this life
still, there's damage as if no one cared

claim's of every wound causes some feeling
each new slice into flesh cuts into my heart
tell me child what it is that leaves me reeling
let someone in, PLEASE... I'm afraid we'll part

what storm is there, hidden 'neath the smile's shine
does fear hold some deep dark that makes you so numb
give up your pain, your sorrow that you can't define
tell me dear, before, to that urge again, you succumb

I only have love within this outstretched hand
please take and use it instead of that onerous tool
against whatever secret agony, it'll help you stand
so that never again should your essence pool [comments] => 3 [counter] => 208 [topic] => 39 [informant] => reprobate [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 9 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => Grief )
