Stands an echo of a world long passed
A place where technology has not advanced
Nor human kindness gone from thought
The cozy browns welcome you in
From the sheets and blankets of snow
Your troubles are left at the door
For nothing but joy abides inside
The fire crackles and pops
As the cold wind is driven out of mind
Fresh cookies and cocoa are placed
Beside the unfinished puzzle
The tingling returns to your fingers and toes
As you thaw by the fire
Through the window the cold is seen
But refuge is taken inside
How does such a simple cabin
Bring warmth to a cold soul?
Is it the fire? The cabin?
Or something in the soul itself? [comments] => 7 [counter] => 203 [topic] => 44 [informant] => hoidy [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Nostalgic )
