Feel the soft snow with your bare hand,
A blanket of snow lays fresh on the ground
It is so quiet you can’t hear a sound.

Breath comes out in little clouds so white,
The snow glistens in your eyes so bright,
The trees once green were now bare,
Here in the wonderland there’s lots to share.

You pull your clothes tighter as the cold nips,
With this white beauty you can’t get a grip,
You stand there in sheer & utter amazement,
Looking at the icy puddles on the pavement.

You smile as you feel happy at this time of year,
In the wonderland you can let go of your fear,
This is where all your dreams come true,
In this place is where wonderment first grew.

In the distance you can make out a large figure,
As they closer they become much bigger,
Then you realise you are face to face with Santa Clause,
You catch your breath but by the time you stop to pause.

He has vanished as if by an act of magic,
But their departure isn’t all that tragic,
As at your feet there is a pile of gifts,
Left by Santa as he left in the snow drift.

You really capture the mood of Christmas. Wonderful imagery, with cold and shivers on the outside; but a warm glow on the inside.

A fun write to read....well done!
