That frantic stillness seeps inside
I won’t believe
I don’t have to
Because I was always
So much more organic than you
You of man made steel
This is the height of conceit
I am fragile, true
But it makes me so much better than you
You of stone and lightning
Don’t tell me it had any effect at all
These are lies that pour past your lips
As I look into your eyes
I didn’t hurt you
Don’t try to tell me I did
You are unbreakable
That’s why I smashed you so hard
To watch the hammer bounce back
This is the height of conceit
The ability to hurt because you can take anything
I didn’t hurt anyone
It was just my own twisted little game
Yet you stand there spouting what I thought were lies
I really didn’t mean to make you shatter
So I am lying on my bed, again
Lying still
But only because if I move I know I’ll scream
And I’ll cry for what I’ve done to you

powerful poem. well expressed and captivating. this part stood out to me,
"I am fragile, true
But it makes me so much better than you" something to ponder.

Brilliant and written incredibly well. There is so much emotion pouring out of here, that it does become slightly overwhelming, but thats what makes it so bloody brilliant. Your use of metaphors and anaologies are outstanding, and the flow and beat of the poem works well complimenting it all the way.
Keep up the amazing work!
