Soft and slow it falls
So beautifully in the night,
Floating down like feathers
And colored icy white.

The breeze is very bitter
For winters in the air,
And to the sight of snowflakes
Nothing can compare.

You see the grand moon shining
It reflects a faint blue glow,
Reminding all of memories
Of playing in the snow.

Of cocoa and of cookies
Of presents and of food,
Forget the times of sadness
Forget if you argued.

Christmas is a time for joy
For happiness and love,
So look up to the heavens
Thank the angels up above.

Ashley, I really loved the message within this poem and the flow was smooth. The emotional content was felt and the visual image you have created for the readers minds eye to captue was clear. Great Job. It makes me sad that most fellow poets on this site simply write good job without really expressing themselves and think that is a good message to leave a poet. I almost left this site for this reason but I am not going to let them keep me away as I love sharing my own talent with the world. I have poetry on other sites and the fellow poets give detailed feed back unlike this site. I just want you to know your talent is glowing and has a way of inspiring your fellow poets. As I leave now, I have just one simple request for you from All poets. Please keep your pens ink flowing across sheets of paper as we await your next poetic caper. May You have a safe love filled holiday season with Family and Friends and maybe Your Special Someone. Your Reading Fan, MickeyPigKnuckles :)

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
