Listening to the wind cut thru the branches.
Bringing an eery welcome into the dark.
A cigarette lantern lights the eyes,
Revealing the soul of it all.
A reminisce about love, politics, or life,
Thoughtfully, peacefully mulling it over.
A bright crescent dances thru limbs,
Nimbly finding it's way across the tangled arms and fingers.
Waiting for the ensemble that accompanies this play,
Back ally cat fights, or barks echoed down the streets.
Life is good now, life is simple in this moment.
There doesn't have to be emotion or care or listening.
Just restful thinking thoughts,
Wrapped warm beneath the flesh.
Thinking to myself life is good now,
And they can never take this away from me. This poem is quite good indeed. My favorite line,

"There doesn't have to be emotion or care or listening.
Just restful thinking thoughts,"

It has great imagery and I could feel the peace you were/are in. Thank you for reading my opinion.
