Array ( [sid] => 76979 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Thank God Nora Is Not God [time] => 2004-12-23 00:27:38 [hometext] => This poem is totally a joke... Nora actually asked me to write it. I cracked a joke about being thankful she is not God... she said write her this... so.... THIS MESSAGE HAS BEEN APPROVED MY SHADOWDAUGHTER... so don't hate me for being mean!!! [bodytext] => The girl who moans with all the trappings of a Greek drama
(and the personality to match their ancient gods)
about every storm and gale
crying, oh crying...
in pain....
a teen in torture from within
a gal of many changing winds
nothing concrete is her path
because who needs a plan?
for this master procrastinator (oh the talented multitasker Nora is)
last minute the task would be
of the creation of the world.
Would would allow this girl to have omniscience?
Oh the dread of that thought
Nora wishes to know it all
Because with her having this power
would surely mean the doom of us all.
for she could.... AND WOULD
OH YES SURELY WOULD...
blackmail us for all that we do...
and wish to send the entire race to a fiery pit
to make us pay for the pain we cause
to the poor trees
and the poor sky... (aw, poor precious clouds...)
for only the EARTH is worth saving
for this girl thinks grace is not to be unconditional
nor that anyone should survive
for she who has the urge to zap all the unintelligent
when her wrath sees fit...
Oh, don't cross her path...
tremble at the name of NORA....
Nay.
Thank God Nora is not God...
But above all...
Thank God that I am not God
For surely all I have poked fun of my dear friend
applies to me hundredfold. [comments] => 12 [counter] => 354 [topic] => 7 [informant] => faith_my_eyes [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 15 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => HumorPoetry )

yep :D

a gal of many changing winds
nothing concrete is her path
because who needs a plan?

uh-huh :D

oh yeah-- that's where multitasking on the seventh day, instead of resting, comes in.

Nora wishes to know it all
Because with her having this power
would surely mean the doom of us all.
for she could.... AND WOULD
OH YES SURELY WOULD...
blackmail us for all that we do...

you bet :D

and wish to send the entire race to a fiery pit
to make us pay for the pain we cause

and the poor sky... (aw, poor precious clouds...)

totally :D

for this girl thinks grace is not to be unconditional
nor that anyone should survive

well, duh! :P

for she who has the urge to zap all the unintelligent
when her wrath sees fit...
Oh, don't cross her path...
tremble at the name of NORA....

sounds good to me :D

Nay.

o.O nooooooooooo . . .!

hehehehe. Nice job, hon.

LOL! Um..... yeppers!

By my estimation, Nora would have created the world between 5:17 and 5:43 a.m. --- possibly later, if it wasn't a school day and that pesky "maybe I could squeeze in one decent hour of sleep" thought could be staved off.

And for the record - I shall henceforth be very nice to trees and will speak well of the skies (how I shall honor the clouds!) and - *gulp* I will hide my ignorance as much as I possibly know how... just... um... in case. As to the matter of her knowing all --- I'm just simply going to do my best not to panic at the thought of how much she already does know! And, with a knowing that she will probably continue to learn more --- I'll simply sit back and hope hope hope that she is... well... of the forgiving sort. *wink*

I loved this, Em! Crazy fun, it 'tis! : )

Hugs to you both!
Snemmy

Oh, Emily, I have to say that I did have quite a few chuckles on this one. I don't even really know Nora that well, but I it totally cracked me up. Okay, I'm gonna go pm Andrew and tell him to check this one out. Adios, chica.

A truly terrifying subject. The title alone is enough to make any borderline religious person who knows Nora turn devout.

The girl who moans with all the trappings of a Greek drama
(and the personality to match their ancient gods)

*grins* That's our Nora.

Who would allow this girl to have omniscience?

Heaven forbid it! *thinks IQ blackmail pic thoughts*

Well, I think you've pretty much said it all. Except that you missed the fanatical night-owl-ness, which SNM had to add.

...but I think you should have mentioned sheep somewhere.
