All I see is a dark haze
And nothing but pain and anguish
It never seizes to amaze
I see no hint of happiness
As I stare deeply into her eyes
No joy or character can be found
Just emptiness as she cries

I gaze at her feeble body
With limbs as nothing but bone
This poor child is starving
All she can do is moan
Her stomach is bloated
What a sad sight to see
Watching this child fade away
It simply cannot be

There is no food to sustain
Her weakened body
Who will save her?
Can anybody?
Looking at this sorrowful picture
I know there’s nothing I can do
All because of man’s greed
Millions like this, will they ever be freed?

So frustrating
I search for any sign of hope
In those brown eyes…..
My search is in vain
She is the result of mankind’s lies

I shed a silent tear
As I pity her gaunt face
I wonder
-what is this world coming to?-
and return the magazine back into its place

aww sad write,i often ask myself the question of what this world is coming to?but to be honest i dont think that an appropriate question to be asking,i think the most appropriate question would be what happened in this world to make it the way it is now?there r no rightful answers bc alot happened, but yeah lets keep this short,i really enjoyed reading this poem, keep to it ur an awesome writer,5 *'s for u!!
