Good News
Learned men
Christian
Scholars of their time writers of the word
To hand write one book took years
Most people of the time couldn't neither write nor read
Life was hard and for most there was no need
Through the Church the Word was spoken
From the pulpit and tradition
The word and deeds of Christ were handed down
Bishops priest deacons spoke from town to town The message the same that Christ had come Scripture was taught from Rome For fifteen-hundred years it had been that way before the Church there was no Bible The seat of Peter was liable
For fifteen hundred years the Church was one Word spoken
Then in history came Martin
The printing press came into being
The Church was about to change
Martin Luther wouldn't sucumb to Church authority
He committed to hearsay
Fifteen hundred years the Church was one
Now the Word undone
A new doctrine
By faith alone is salvation
Although St Paul and other apostles tell us faith is dead without works
God tells us not to add nor takaway from the book
The apostles also said there was much more to write about Jesus, but that all the books in the world couldn't hold all that he did
Which brings us back to the Word written
Meaning tradition

Yes, by faith alone we are saved or no one could be saved, but faith without works is drained of its life. Fascinating look at a debate that will probably continue to rage until Christ returns to set us straight.
