I watch him day-by-day,
to check his life has quality,
that he’s not in pain.

(Now, I know that this sounds sad, or worse,
but that’s so far from the truth.
There’s no living creature here on earth
who can claim eternal youth.)

This old man’s name is Whiskas
and he’s twenty-seven now.
Work that out in cat years,
but please don’t ask me how.

He came to us in ’92,
too old to find a place.
So, he joined our little family,
all of whom are furry-faced.

He’s like a Duracell battery;
he just goes on and on.
I hope he lasts forever
and proves the experts wrong.

Until the time he flies away
to join our Spirit friends.
We will cherish every day
with our special little friend.

Well, that’s my tale in black and white,
as well-defined as he.
So, now I have some words to write
about the other three…..=^..^=
