Array ( [sid] => 76341 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Maelstrom Orchestration [time] => 2004-12-18 12:36:25 [hometext] => I often do this kind of thing, end up sort of ranting and going off on a really long poem. [bodytext] => The gap opened again today
I saw it wide and whole,
I feared it would pull me in.

I saw you open and truthful today
I feared your reality. I feared you.
I never knew. I guess we never do.

I thought long and hard. I saw you, I saw the gap
I saw the rift between us all. I knew you were in it
Right in the centre, pushing open the split between.
I saw the divine; I swam to the heavens, through
And through, the river of Styx. I must have gone through hell
To get to heaven. I saw myself, I saw you again,
Down and above I saw the world from afar
And I feared. I saw. I thrived on denial
I floundered in realisation, I know you too well
I don't know enough. I do. I am. I will. I can't.
Not yet. I know. I am only what I am.

I have tripped over too many stones.
Stones not even worth throwing
I have thrown enough, all behind me.
I drag the pile along with me.
Each and every man does. I see them;
Their piles, I see them all too well.
They are black, and form a whole,
I never knew you all could see them too
My shadow, my stones, my pile.
I drag it with me to the end.

Armageddon, surely it's time,
Just a few moments, just a little time
Give the preachers a chance to teach themselves.
I doubt they are strong now,
I doubt the will of God is still with them.
I can imagine they are crying,
I can imagine they are fearing.
I know I am. Hell awaits, don't we all,
Heaven approaches, why do we stay?

Where's a chair when you want one? I would rather like to sit here and watch the final act, maybe light a cigarette and infuse the air with my own delight.

With a view such as this, who can complain?
I have all the country I could ever need in my sight,
I can watch people run in terror from inevitability.

How fitting it occurs at dawn, red highlights and black backdrops, what more could man want you wonder?

Dreams and imagination
Stumbling, drowning in
Diluted paradise.

Indifferent faces walk by, devoured eyes inhabiting their sockets, briefly looking at me, as I rock in my chair, I nod and they walk. Too many lost souls already, if only they could have waited their turn.

Deep subconscious struggles, simply floating
Simply there, no arguments just exhausted minds.
Treading softly as if on water, I fall
And awake. Sitting in my chair, the curtain call.

Raging fires, flying death.
Plummeting too fast to realise.
I'm glad you're hear
I've missed you so much.
I'm so glad to see you.

Why don't you stay? I would appreciate it. You should see the view tonight; it's great, it's to die for.

I imagine you are scared,
I'm right aren't I?
Don't fret, come sit by me,
Drink something, quiet your mind
And imagine it's a painting in the making.
I like that idea myself, it's comforting.
Use it. And enjoy yourself.
Don't think I've forgotten your reality.
It's stayed with me. That's why we have to die,
Complete reality cannot be realised,
Ironic don't you think, the gap's coming
Soon it wont be between a thing.
Ironic again isn't it? I thought so.
