Covered by small flowers
Watch as she stares
As time devours

Think you know the girl
Floating in the lake
Will she truly always be
Your favourite mistake?

Think you know the girl
Cavorting in the leaves
You truly know so little
She always could deceive

Think you know the girl
Laying in the snow
You really understand
Less than you could know

Think you know the girl
Whose moods change like the season
Who hates herself incredibly
For nary any reason

Think you know the girl
Staring at the stars
Blowing kisses to Venus
To the moon and to Mars

Think you know the girl
Who stopped believing in dreams
Who bites her tongue until it bleeds
To choke back her bitter screams

Think you know the girl
With the crooked, golden smile
Don’t see beyond the body
It’s already been defiled

Think you know the girl
Who to herself is unknown
Nothing but hollow skin
And murky blood and bone

Think you know the girl
Behind the beautiful stone face
She’s nothing but ashes
And lonely disgrace [comments] => 5 [counter] => 199 [topic] => 43 [informant] => blackmarker [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )
