A Salt Lake Soul

What do you see in the horizon?
Nothing really no one around
That’s how I feel
Just alone with the
Miles of nothing that surround me
See how the sky blends with the water
If it were not for the rock
You could not tell if it were upside down
Its beautiful right
A beautiful reflection of how this world is
Empty and cold
It is almost unlivable to me
It seems like a nice idea right
All that space to your self
A great place to meditate and find your self
But how long could you stand being there alone?
How long can you stand feeling empty and cold?
How long could you stand being me?
What do you see in the horizon?
Nothing really no one around
That’s how I feel
Just alone with the
Miles of nothing that surround me
But what do you see
When you look at the horizon

Miles of Nothing That Surround me

Sometimes I feel like I am alone
And the only views I have are the
Miles of Nothing That Surround Me
As if I where in the center of a salt flat
With nothing in every horizon
But a flat reflection of how this world is
Empty and cold
But my world is not like that
My life is surrounded by a thousand faces
That I am grateful for but I tired of
I want to travel the world and see
Things that I do not know
I so tire of the familiar
And need to explore
There is so much of this world I have not seen
But till I can I remain
Feeling alone in the world
With the only views I have being the
Miles of Nothing That Surround Me
With nothing in every horizon
But a flat reflection of how this world is
Empty and cold

Well, poetry is supposed to make the reader feel and you made me feel anger. You are heaped in self pity and if my honesty makes you mad so be it. Do you really look beyond yourself? I haven't seen a lot either but right next door to me I'll bet there's something I've not seen that I could see.. same with you.. my hands are freezing and it's 18 degrees..I'm going to bed..I wish I could spell pthhh!!!! LOL

John i dont want to say i agree with the other person
but you do seem to consumed by self pitty.
I know i cant say much without being hypercritic......as i am sometimes as well...
but dude you need to get out of this self pitty.....there is more to you than you may think you just dont see it!

i am sorry i have said these harsh things but i felt it was time they were said

Love you always
Stace

i dont agree with the two people above. i have suffered from the feelings too. i have a great life in all honesty but depression is unexplainable. i should be contented as there are poor people dying of illness and hunger but its hard. however i cant get on with the poems myself as they are a little disjointed and although structure can reflect mood it shouldnt handicap the reader.
