Christmas

~~~~~~~~~~Christmas~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Once upon a starry night
Long ago in a land far away
God entered this world
A helpless babe on mangers hay
In reverent awe Angels watched
As the divine child was born
Humbled by such love
On this, the first Christmas morn
The animals all knew Him
As did the stars in the sky
Recognizing the voice of their creator
In a new born baby’s cry
God becoming flesh
Descending from His throne above
To rescue the human heart
With a gentle unassuming love
Abolishing the rift forever
The separation of God and men
On that most Holy of nights
Long ago when
God entered the world
Not as majesty but grace
In innocence and wonder
Held us in warm embrace
So let your hearts be happy
Let us never forget
And may this your Christmas
Be the greatest one yet !
Russ
