Far to the north beneath a blanket of trees-
Hides a flower amongst the maple leaves-
To sad to shine with colors so bright-
Filled with the pain of loves fading light…

Feeling all alone and empty inside-
Her heart, this flower has chosen to hide-
Seeking shelter from any emotional storm-
Has become, for this blossom the norm…

Life offered her many a selection to make-
So many paths for her to take-
A lifetime of love is that which she chose-
And from this choice her present life arose…

What once she felt to be true-
Has left her alone without a clue-
A wilting flower between thicket and thorn-
From within, a soul forever torn…

Now when the north winds do blow-
Her pain begins to slowly grow-
And her smile fades beneath a blanket of trees-
As this flower of nature hides amongst the maple leaves…

Joe~

Each verse captured the emotion perfectly. You have quite
a gift. This was beautiful and yet so tragically sad.
With love and light, the wilted flower will once again blossom.
Thank you for sharing this.
