I know the last person I see will be you,
Darkness has fallen all across my land,
All through this you never let go of my hand.

I can feel them pulling, clawing at me,
I was so stupid to think I’d ever get free,
I have held on until my fingers were raw,
But it wasn’t worth what I was fighting for.

I scream out but you can not hear,
You do not know that death has come near,
You fail to see them pulling me down,
Deep down to the lair underground.

They have been laying in wait for years,
Become stronger with each of my fallen tears,
They count down my last heart beats,
Waiting for me to fall at their feet.

This is the thing I have feared all my life,
Now I’m about to feel the force of their knife,
As they stick it deep into my flesh I bleed to death,
You couldn’t save me or my last breath.

So intense and realistically vivid...painting a remorseful picture...so much torment and terror...filled and overflowing in losss and agony..really freaky poem...but beautifully written..with so much talent.
